HIS&HERS

"A pre-fall ’13 women’s and menswear collection containing 6 outfits, (3 female and 3 male) and Crossing the boundaries of ‘unisex’ dress and creating a collection that can be worn by both genders. This collection is to be inspired my dancer’s crisp, neat lines used in ballet and contemporary dance and this is to will reflect on the construction side of the collection. Cuts of the fabric, minimal detailing, clean and Sharpe lines are key elements to this collection. The colour palette is tonal with shades of black, grey, champagne and a dominate blue which is inspired by the 2012 film ‘The Iron Lady’ starring Meryl Streep, these colours will make the collection versatile for both genders. The prints have a tropical influence and will be used as accents to add a colourful and playful feel to the collection.
This luxury collection is aimed at the higher high street market such as COS and THE KOOPELS. Good quality and self designed woven fabrics will be used along side leather and suede which will be perfect for the cross over into winter. Garment shapes are inspired by the 1980’s ‘unisex’ movement and garments such as trousers, jackets and shirts will have genderless feel to reflect the ‘genderless’ theme.
This collection is designed for him or her in a contemporary and new way with a tasteful look and feel in every outfit with pushing the boundaries of genderless fashion."

So, I've started on the on my final collection. It's going well and I feel organised which is the main thing and I've made a start on toiling some garments. Here are my moodbaords which show my colour palette and print inspiration....
I've got a potential line-up but when it comes to makeing the gamrents, knowing me they will change. The next step in to sort out where to put the colour, prints and what fabrics will be used in each outfit.

PARIS '12

Paris was a really successful trip as I sold THREE prints from my tropical collection to Desigual. I was pleased to sell but at the same time abit disheartened because the two of the prints that sold, I wanted to used in my final collection. But this has given me the chance to make new prints and development them further.
The trip went so fast it felt like one LONG day in paris, before I knew it I was home again. I went to the Sacre Coeur (best known for fabric shops) and spent 85euros on fabric from, silks and cottons. Definitely money spent well.
I also visited the high street brand 'the kooples' in paris and got an amazing lookbook which will inspire my photoshoot for my collection.

Overall a really successful trip.

COLLECTION OF STYLE.

COS is one of my best high street brands on the high street today. Launched in 2007 the brand has become best known for its slick and minimal garments and paying much attention to detail. I inspire my final collection to be just like COS, I love the minimal and clean look about the brand and I want this to reflect in my collection.
Here are some images from their 2012 lookbook.

THE KOOL-PLES

"The Kooples is bringing chic back to the streets, dressing men and women in sharp allure, with a style borrowed from icons of fashion and a love for vintage." - The Kooples

I want my collection to have a real cool and edgy look, The kooples do it so well with their couples. I want my photoshoot to be styled just like the way the kooples do their images for their lookbooks.
